What Will I Do During the SDI Sidemount Diver Course?
In the SDI Sidemount Diver Course, students will comprehensively explore various aspects essential for mastering sidemount diving. The curriculum delves into crucial topics such as gas management with independent cylinders, equipment considerations encompassing cylinder and regulator options, buoyancy compensator device (BCD)/harness choices, and proper weighting. The course also covers gas-sharing, handling gas haemorrhages, and water entry techniques for shore and boat dives. S-Drills, designed explicitly for sidemount setups, will be practised to enhance proficiency. During the course, students will be required to demonstrate essential skills, including dive planning, thorough equipment testing, familiarization with the dive area, controlled descents, safe gas management in independent cylinders, meticulous monitoring of depth, time, and air consumption, buoyancy control in various scenarios, attaching sidemount cylinders both in and out of the water, executing gas switches, and performing safety stops, ensuring a well-rounded and confident sidemount diving experience.
What Will I Be Able To Do After Certifying?
Upon successfully completing this course, individuals who graduate are authorized to partake in sidemount diving activities independently, given adherence to specific limits.
