SDI Scuba Discovery allows you to test scuba in a shallow swimming pool's serene and secure environment, helping you decide if it's an activity you genuinely enjoy.

What will I do in my SDI Scuba Discovery?

Under the direct supervision of an SDI Professional, you will acquire the fundamental skills necessary to venture into the underwater realm. During this experience, you will discover the sensation of breathing underwater, whether it aligns with your preferences. Throughout the session, you will:

  • Familiarize yourself with the sensation of wearing scuba equipment and experience how you can move underwater effortlessly.
  • Gain insight into the experience of breathing underwater, determining your comfort level in that environment.
  • Acquire essential skills and safety rules that will prove beneficial as you progress through your entire scuba certification course, taking the next step in your underwater exploration.

What scuba gear will I use?

An SDI Scuba Discovery experience typically covers all essential equipment. This includes familiar dive gear such as fins, a buoyancy jacket (BCD) to support your scuba tank, a regulator for breathing, and gauges to monitor your air supply. Additionally, you'll be provided with a wetsuit to ensure warmth during your dive.

How do I start diving now?

Kindly review the SDI Scuba Discovery Medical Statement (provided below) and contact us if you respond with a YES to any of the medical statements. This doesn't necessarily indicate that you cannot dive; it simply implies that you may require confirmation from a doctor to ensure diving suitability.

SDI Scuba Discovery Basic Package: 

  • An introduction to scuba diving

  • A two-hour pool session to a maximum depth of 2 meters

  • Everything from the Basic Package
  • PLUS your very own mask & snorkel to keep
